The Council of Presidents of the Conference of the Parties (COP) was inaugurated during a meeting of the French Constitutional Council, which was held on the initiative of Polish Vice-Minister of Environment and Government Plenipotentiary for the Presidency of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) Michał Kurtyka.

On the 23th of August, the inter-ministerial COP24 Summit Organisation Team has met once again. The meeting was attended by the Minister’s Plenipotentiary for the Organisation of COP24 Summit Rafał Bochenek, as well as representatives of the state authorities and the local government of the Silesian Voivodeship.

"In response to emerging aberrations in waste management and the scale of the issue, as evidenced by the increase in statistics on landfill fires, we have prepared proposals for legislative changes to counteract such situations in the future. They were included in the draft laws on waste management and the Environmental Protection Inspectorate," said Henryk Kowalczyk, Minister of Environment.
