LOBBE Dąbrowa Górnicza Sp. z o.o.

The waste incineration plant LOBBE owned by Lobbe Dabrowa Górnicza Sp. z.o.o. is located in the eastern part of Dabrowa Górnicza in the voivodship of Katowice. The waste incineration plant was built in 1985 - 1988 and was over-taken by the company LOBBE sv from Belgium in 1999. 36 people are em-ployed at the plant. The authority for Lobbe Dabrowa Górnicza Sp. is the Silesian Voivodship Of-fice, Department for Environment and Agriculture.

The LOBBE waste incineration plant makes energy utilization of both hazard-ous waste and normal combustible waste. The waste incineration plant has a maximum annual capacity of 20,000 tons.

The incineration plant has two production lines of which the first consists of a rotary furnace, combustion chamber, waste-heat boiler and foam absorption washer. This line is used for incineration of solid and liquid waste, both haz-ardous and non hazardous. The second production line consists of a plate fur-nace, foam absorption washer and a flue gas cleaning system. This line is used for incineration of industrial waste water sludge and the auxiliary fuel is cook-ing gas. The heat from the combustion is not recovered so the output of the process is dried sludge.

The key emissions from the incineration plant are primarily air emission as or-ganic compounds, SO2, heavy metals, dioxins and dust, but the incineration also generates wastewater and fly ash, with a content of hazardous substances.

The incineration line contains a number of BAT-installations primarily to de-crease the air pollution level. Some of these are flue gas dedusting in Electro-static Precipitator and bag filter, mercury removal, HCl scrubber, SO2 scrubber and NOx removal.
