Landfill in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

The operation of the Waste Management Company Tomaszow is conducted in Lubochnia Górki at a plot owned by the State Treasury. The area of the waste deposit site in Lubochnia is furthermore leased to the Municipality of Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The company commenced its operation on the 1st of March 2002. 7 people are employed at the waste management plant.

The authority for Tomaszow is the Łódź Voivodship office, Department for Environment and Agriculture.

The main activities of the company deals with deposit of mixed municipal waste and accomplishment of primary technological processes i.e.:

- Deposit of mixed municipal waste,

- Temporary storage of recyclable materials and hazardous waste separated from municipal waste

- Composting of green waste

- Washing and disinfection of vehicles supplying waste and containers as an auxiliary process

Due to the commencement of the operation of the company in 2002, the com-pany foresees the following output:

Rendering the waste harmless on the landfill: approx. 120,000 m3/year

Temporary storage of recyclable materials and hazardous waste: approx. 3,000 tons/year

Composting of green waste: approx. 500-700 tons/year

The main emissions from Tomaszow are industrial sewage and waste gas from the depots, which mainly consists of CO2 and methane. The industrial sewage is mainly percolate water (runoff water) from the landfill and from the com-posting site and disinfecting solutions from the sanitation pond and disinfecting of containers.
