The meeting was attended by Janusz Zaleski, Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, who talked during a ministerial session on best sustainable development practices, including &nbsp;financing undertakings and related to climate change, about Polish experiences in this area.</p>]]></description>

For the third time, companies offering competitive solutions in the area of environmental protection compete for a place in this great race. The goal is the government support for their transfer to key foreign markets. This year we are looking for solutions in the area of counteracting climate change, ecological energy production, as well as environmentally friendly technologies for mining industry. The Ministry of the Environment accepts applications until 29 February 2012.</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Issues related to environmental protection are one of the priorities of the European Union. This is reflected in the total amount of money allocated to this purpose. In the financial perspective 2007-2013 Poland has received ca. EUR 28 billion for the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme (POIiŚ), over EUR 5 billion of which is allocated to environmental actions. Today, at the press conference in Szczawnica, Aneta Wilmańska, Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, signed a confirmation of subsidy assignment for a beneficiary from the Małopolska region. Małopolskie is a leading Voivodeship as far as the implementation of projects co-financed within this Programme is concerned.</p>]]></description>

The decorations were handed over by Stanisław Gawłowski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, during a ceremony held on 12 January in the Ministry of the Environment.</p>]]></description>

The International Year of Forests 2011 declared by the UNO focused on reminding us of their significance for people, economy and the environment. In Poland, the Year was concluded by the opening of a photo exposition entitled: "Las jest w nas" ("The Forest is in Us"), which will be open for visitors until 10 February in the Ministry of the Environment.</p>]]></description>

<title>Durban conference delivers breakthrough for climate</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">The European Union welcomes the agreement reached at the UN climate conference in Durban as a historic breakthrough in the fight against climate change. After two weeks of negotiations, the 195 Parties to the UN climate change convention agreed on a roadmap, proposed by the EU, for drawing up a legal framework by 2015 for climate action by all countries. The Durban conference also agreed that there will be a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, made operational the new Green Climate Fund for developing countries and approved a series of measures which build on the progress made at last year&rsquo;s Cancun conference. <strong></strong></p>]]></description>
