The aim of their demonstration was to draw the public attention to the excessive prices of timber raw material, the principles of its sales, and the opportunities to expand the volumes of timber to be logged by the "State Forests" National Holding those in the Chamber.s opinion is not sufficient enough. The Chamber claims that the timber sales system, as pursued currently, has led to irrationally high process of this raw material that are retained by the "State Forests" National Holding. The Chamber also promotes opinion that such monopolistic principles harm the wood and timber industries in Poland, sawmills being the first in line.

According to the Polish Press Agency, about 100 individuals took part to the protest. The representatives of the timber industries were hosted by Mr. Michał Boni, Secretary of State, Chief of the Prime Minister.s Strategic Advisory Team. Mr. Janusz Zaleski Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, also participated.

Pursuant to meeting which was held earlier, on 8 July 2008, by the Management of Ministry of the Environment with representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Timber Industry, the subsequent such talks on the current situation in this field are planned for 24 July 2008. Mr. Michał Boni, Secretary of State, Chief of the Prime Minister.s Strategic Advisory Team, is also expected to participate.
