On 8 July 2008, at Ministry of the Environment, meeting was held by Mr. Janusz Zaleski, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Mr. Dariusz Bogdan, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy, and Dr. Marian Pigan, Director General of the "State Forests" National Holding, with the representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Timber Industry.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current situation on the wood market, including the timber sale prices, as well as the draft proposal of Minister of Economy on the detailed responsibility scope to obtaining of certificates of origin and their and presentation for annulment, payment of the substitution charge, purchase of electric and heat energy generated by renewable energy sources and the obligation to confirm data concerning the quantity of electric and energy generated by renewable energy source.

Views were exchanged on the said issues and the need to regular analysis of the wood market situation was emphasised. The results of such analysis will form the basis for the further pricing decisions.

The date of the subsequent meeting to continue discussion on the aforementioned issues was fixed at 24 July 2008.
