Warsaw, 02 July 2008 Dr. Maciej Trzeciak, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Chief Nature Conservator, the representatives of Ministerial Department of NATURA 2000 Sites, and of the Nature Conservation Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, and of non-governmental organisations, delivered their lectures and presentations on the current status of the activities under way to implement the Natura 2000 European Ecological Network in Poland, the legal and substantive grounds to establish the Natura 2000 Network, and the procedures for investments on Natura 2000 sites. The addresses delivered by the participants to the Workshop included also the issues of the non-governmental organisations' role in designation of the Natura 2000 sites, and the collaboration with self-governments on preparation of the cooperation plans for the sake of the sites' protection.
