On 25 June 2008, the Ministrial and World Bank joint news conference will be held in Warsaw

Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, Mr. Oscar de Bruyn Kops, World Bank Country Manager for Poland and the Baltic States, participate. The conference inaugurates two-day Regional Forum of Green Investment Scheme (GIS), during which the Polish and international environmental experts will discuss preparation for and implementation of the GIS and organisation of the 14th Conference of the Parties (COP14) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, serving as the 4th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (MOP4) that is to be held on 1-12 December, 2008, in Poznan, Poland. 

The matters which refer to the World Bank activities performed for the sake of limitation of climate change and Poland's involvement in the Green Investment Schemes with the aim to mitigate the effects of climate change and meeting Poland's commitments under the Kyoto Protocol. 

The entrepreneurs interested in participation to the GIS and the representatives of potential purchasers will also participate to the Forum to present their particular requirements.
 

Green Investment Scheme (GIS) refers to a plan for achieving environmental benefits from trading 'hot air' under the Kyoto Protocol. It means sales of the excessive greenhouse gas emission allowances in spite of the emission reducing investments
