Warsaw, 20 June 2008 On 20 June 2008, the Congress of the Polish Technology Platforms discussed at Ministry of Economy the issue of the coal extraction concessions Dr. Henryk Jacek Jezierski, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Chief National Geologist, participated to discussion. He signalised the problems appearing in regard to obtaining approvals for setting up new coal mines that are caused by protests launched by the general public and the environmental NGOs. Mr. Henryk J. Jezierski appealed that the representatives of the Polish Technology Platforms would involve into development of new coal extraction technology by, for example, coal gasification method or by CO2 removal through its storage in geological formations.
