Warsaw, 19 June 2008 On 20 June 2008, on the occasion of the National Forest Days celebrated at the Spychowo Forest Inspectorate, Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, and Mr. Janusz Zaleski, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, participate to the country-wide Meeting of Foresters Poles love their forests and the National Forest Days are celebrated each year in Poland. This year occasional meeting of foresters will be held in the north-eastern forested region of Poland. The celebration will inaugurated by Mr. Jan Karetko, Director Regional of the "State Forests" National Holding, in Olsztyn. Occasional addresses will be delivered by Dr. Marian Pigan, Director General of the "State Forests" National Holding, and by Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, who will first award the State and Sectoral Decorations to the individuals - foresters - who put special merits to development and promotion of the "State Forests" National Holding. They will be additionally honoured by handing over the Adam Loret Awards and the souvenirs called the Cutlass of the Polish Hunter. The "Golden Acorn" decorations will be also granted to them. In the adjacent Piska Forest, the guests participating to the event, including Minister M. Nowicki, will plant four commemorative pines, the seeds of which were consecrated by His Holiness Pope Benedict 16th.
