TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN ! Polish Geological Institute
invites anyone concerned to attend conference on "The future of the brown
coal based mining and energy sectors in Poland and Europe" and briefing
to be given by Dr. Henryk Jezierski, Under-Secretary of State w Ministry
of the Environment, Chief National Geologist
The conference provides and opportunity to discuss the issues pertaining to mostly controversial energy raw material that is brow coal being however one of the basic pillars of the Polish economy. Outstanding experts who take part to the present conference will attempt to verify both the aforementioned thesis and the negative comments on the brown coal mining sector. The conference includes two sessions. The first is dedicated to the brown coal resources in Poland, the future of the brown coal based mining and energy sectors, and the extractive strategy of the Legnica deposits of this raw material. The second session will concern the issues pertaining to the performance of electro-power sector in Poland, the RWE's strategy for use of brown coal to generate electric energy, and the role of this raw material in satisfying the energy demand in Europe.
