On 16 June 2008, the Awards of Minister of the Environment for the outstanding achievements in the field of the protection, development and use of the environment, including also environmental resources, will be ceremonially granted to the winners of this-year edition 
of this annual competition.
  
Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, and Dr. Henryk Jacek Jezierski, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Chief National Geologist, will present the awards. 
The journalists concerned are kindly requested to participate. 
 
 
The Awards are granted each year. Such outstanding achievements may be nominated to the Awards that feature by their novelty and up-to-date character, and which distinguish by scientific, economic and social effects. The Awards may be also granted for the entire output in the following  fields of activity:
  • protection of the air quality, 
  • protection of water conditions, and water management,
  • geo-ecology, protection of land surface quality and land resources,
  • protection against noise, vibrations and electromagnetic fields, 
  • geology, 
  • nature conservation, 
  • forestry,
  • prevention of pollutants,
  • environmental education and promotion of its related issues, 
  • instruments of sustainable development,
  • management and governance of environmental resources,
  • new research methods.
 
The granting ceremony will be held on 16 June 2008, at 12.00 hrs, Room 262 (2nd floor) of the Ministry Building (address: 52/54, Wawelska Str., in Warsaw, entrance from Reja Street)
