On 6 June 2008, in Szczecin, at the University of Technology, conference will be held under honorary patronage of Dr. Maciej Trzeciak, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Chief Nature Conservator. Promotion of environmental protection issues among students of the Szczecin universities and colleges is the aim of the conference. Besides the academic youth and Dr. Maciej Trzeciak, the representatives of the local university and college authorities, the City Office, the Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and the Szczecin Branch of the Institute of Environmental Protection, are also expected to participate. During the conference, Under-Secretary M. Trzeciak will deliver presentation on the Natura 2000 European Ecological Network as an essential component to promote Poland's natural values both domestically and internationally. A "Students' Environmental Decalogue" was developed especially in view of young participants to the conference. It includes guidance how to take care of nature in every day's life. Upon arrangements made by the Organiser, i.e. the Student Scientific Circle at the Szczecin University of Technology, each of the participants will receive a copy of the Report on the State of the Environment in the Western Pomeranian Voivodship (i.e. Province) and a special commemorative "ecological" bag (i.e. made without plastics).
