On 28 May 2008, in Warsaw, Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, participated to the 2nd Polish-French Summit which was presided jointly by Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, and Mr. Lech Kaczyński, President of the Republic of Poland.
  
The Agenda of the present Polish-French Summit included also a meeting held by Professor Maciej Nowicki, the Polish Minister of the Environment, and Mr. Jean-Louis Borloo, the French Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development and Planning. Mr. Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy, Republic of Poland, also participated to that meeting. 

The topics of the Polish-French talks included the issues of the Energy and Climate Package and preparation to the 14th Conference of the Parties (COP14) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, serving as the 4th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (MOP4) that is to be held on 1-12 December, 2008, in Poznan, Poland. 

Moreover, Minister M. Nowicki took part also to the plenary session presided jointly by Mr. Donald Tusk, the Polish Prime Minister, and Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France, that summarised the results of the present Polish-French inter-governmental consultations.
