Conference titled "Billions EURO for ecology - All about financing environmentally sound projects in Poland under the "Infrastructure and Environment Programme" is to be held
on 28 May 2008, 11.00 hrs, at the Książ Castle, in Walbrzych
    
Balance of the first acquisition of the applications (for projects in the scope of water and waste water management and waste management) to grant co-financing under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme is the major topic of the present conference to be held in Walbrzych. Other topics include Governmental policies in the scope of the investments planned under this Programme, as well as the state of the self-governments' preparedness to acquisition of the Community resources. Mr. Stanisław Gawłowski, Secretary of State w Ministry of the Environment, and Ms. Ewa Mańkowska, President of the Board of the Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, in Wrocław,. News conference will be an element of this meeting of the Intermediate Body and the Implementation Institutions the environmental priority axes under the Infrastructure and Environmental Operational Programme that is to be held on 27-29 May 2000 at the Książ Castle, in Walbrzych.
   
The 2007-2013 Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme is the biggest in financial terms such programme ever launched in the history of the European Union, being meanwhile the most important source for financing environmental projects in Poland for the next 7 years. The amount of about 5 billion EURO has been earmarked in the EU budget for the sole investments in environmental protection. This money will provide for construction of up-to-date waste water treatment plants and waste disposal installations.  
It has to be emphasised that Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, is the first of the Community Environmental Ministers who launched the relevant competitions under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme.
