Warsaw, 13 May 2008 and Mr. Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy (14-16 May 2008, in Bóbrka) "Petroleum and natural gas industries in Poland within the European energy and environmental security system" is the motto of this Congress. Dr. Henryk Jacek Jezierski, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Chief National Geologist, participates to the Congress which includes six sessions. During one of them, as dedicated to the environmental issues, the presentations will be provided on environmental management in petroleum processing industries and liquid fuel distribution networks, as well as the past damage - i.e. the contemporary environmental challenges to the petroleum and natural gas sector. Lecture on "CO2 - Hazard or An Opportunity" will be also delivered during this part of the Conference. The issues relating to biofuels and the underground storage of liquid fuels, the perspectives to CO2 sequestration in matured petroleum and natural gas deposits, as well as the influence of new legal regulations on the underground storage of natural gas in Poland will be also presented. The Congress, the organiser of which is the Main Board of Scientific and Technical Association of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineers, will be held in I. £ukaszewicz Petroleum Industry Museum, in Bóbrka.
