Conference titled "Pure Water Means Better Life - The Investments in Szczecin Protect the Odra River and the Baltic Sea" - is held under patronage of Mr. Stanisław Gawłowski, Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, and Mr. Piotr Krzysztof, President of the City of Szczecin (13-14 May 2008, in Szczecin)
     
The Conference is held to promote Project titled "Improvement in Water Quality at the City of Szczecin" - one of the biggest in Poland the investment undertakings being held in the field of environmental sector. The Project is in 66% co-financed with the UE Cohesion Fund UE.  
The Conference provides an opportunity to inform about the progress attained in the work on implementation of the Project in question which includes orderly water and sewage management in Szczecin, and consequently the protection of the Odra River and the Baltic Sea waters. The Organisers are intended also to provide a site-trip to familiarise the participants to the Conference with the new sites built under the Project.  
The representatives of the institutions involved into implementation of this Project, including those of the European Commission, Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Regional Development, as well as of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and of the Szczecin Voivodship Fund participate to the Conference. Moreover, the domestic and foreign Members of Parliament and of the European Parliament, the representatives of the local governmental and self-governmental authorities, the beneficiaries of the Cohesion Fund, the representatives of the Szczecin Universities and Colleges, and of the media take part of the Conference. 
Its Organisers are Water Supply and Sewage Utility Ltd., in Szczecin, and the GRONTMIJ Poland Consortium Ltd., in Poznan. The address of the venue is Novotel, 31, The 3rd May Avenue, in Szczecin.
