The 5th Petersberg Climate Dialogue, attended by the ministers competent for the environment and energy from ca. 30 countries, has come to an end. Poland was represented at the meeting by Marcin Korolec, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Climate Policy and the current President of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Climate Convention (COP19/CMP9).
On 7 July, Sławomir Brodziński, Chief National Geologist, invited by the LOTOS Petrobaltic S.A. company, visited the Baltic Beta oil platform situated at the subsea B-3 oil and gas deposit.
The Ordinance of the Minister of the Environment on detailed conditions of granting horizontal state aid for some environmental protection objectives has been applicable since 10 July 2014.
Sewage treatment, access to potable water and waste management were the main topics discussed during the meeting of Stanisław Gawłowski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, with Mohamed Diare, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Finances of the Republic of Guinea. The meeting was held on 16 July in the Ministry of the Environment.
Issues related to the new global climate agreement were the focus of talks at the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate. At the sitting of the Sejm on 11 July this year, deputies adopted the final version of the amendment to the act Geological and mining law and some other acts. The amendment regulates rational exploration and production of hydrocarbons: natural gas, including shale gas and crude oil.
