Flood protection is one of the main themes of the today's visit of the Minister of the Environment, Maciej Grabowski, to Lower Silesia.
Sustainable development, i.e. one which respects the natural environment, and the preparations for the Climate Conference COP21 were the main topics the informal meeting of the EU Environment Council. Maciej Grabowski, the Minister of the Environment, and Marcin Korolec, the Secretary of State and the Government Plenipotentiary for Climate Policy, took part in the meeting.
Dorota Niedziela, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment, met with Karmenu Vella, the Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
The basic changes introduced by the Act which the President of the Republic of Poland just signed include lower charges and administrative fines for the removal of trees or shrubs, differentiated rates of the fines depending on the circumstances of the case and higher quality of new plantings.

The protection of the air against pollutants and enhanced energy savings are the objectives for which more than 42 million PLN has been allocated from the funds of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 209-2014. As from today, competition applications can be submitted under the Operational Programme “Saving energy and promoting renewable energy sources”.
