On 28 February this year, Minister Maciej Grabowski and president of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of support to implementation of LIFE environment and climate action programme set for 2014-2020.
Philippe Martin, Barbara Hendricks and Maciej Grabowski, Ministers of the Environment of France, Germany and Poland, held a debate in Berlin. The talks were mostly dedicated to the climate policy.
Maciej Grabowski, the Minister of the Environment, familiarised himself with the works carried out in Stoczek-OU1K shale gas well owned by PKN Orlen. It is already the tenth well of the company in the search for unconventional hydrocarbon deposits.
Half of the financial resources of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) will be allocated to small island states and regions at risk of adverse effects of climate change – such decision was made at the meeting of the Fund's Management Board held last week. The meeting was attended by Vice-Minister Marcin Korolec, who represents Poland in the GCF.
How can we implement the Nagoya Protocol to share the benefits arising from the utilisation of genetic resources? This is the subject of talks during the 3rd Meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Nagoya Protocol (ICNP-3), which has commenced today in PyeongChang, Korea. The meeting serves as a preparation to the ratification of the document.
The most important provisions of the amendment to the Water Law include: specifying and completing the legal definitions resulting from the Framework Water Directive, determining the leading municipality in water and sewage agglomerations and introducing water maintenance plans to Polish legislation. Today, after the first reading, the Sejm has referred the draft to the Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry Committee.
